How to compare the best and largest software companies

When looking for the best software company, first define your project's service area and acceptance criteria. When researching company size, look at revenue, headcount, period and scope of activity together. The company counts in this directory show how records are distributed across provinces; they don't measure quality or turnover.

How many software companies are there in Türkiye?

As of October 2026, 16,802 software and IT companies are listed on CompAtlas. All of them are based in Türkiye, and each one's website has been verified as live. 81 provinces have at least one listed company.

This number is not an official registry. The trade registry counts every legal entity whose field of activity is software; CompAtlas counts companies that can be found through a website and are still operating. The difference determines how the number should be interpreted — the scope and limits are set out on the data methodology page.

CompAtlas data

The directory is compiled automatically from public sources: companies' own websites, open business directories, OpenStreetMap, technopark and technocity lists, and corporate domain records. Every record passes a website liveness check before going live; dead and parked domains never enter the directory. Personal data (names, personal emails) is filtered out and only corporate information is stored.

The directory data offers three structural observations. First, concentration: roughly 73.7% of companies are in ten provinces. Second, reach: even so, there are listed companies in all 81 provinces, so the sector isn't confined to the big cities. Third, service diversity: even the largest category, web development, covers only 41% of categorised companies.
